Craft Beer Brewing

Right across the street from New Cross Farmhouse you will find, New Cross Craft Brewery. Quite handy to have a micro-brewery across the way! You will work with the brewmaster, follow the entire brewing process and you will custom blend your own style beer.

The whole brewing process will be covered from the weighing of the grains to the finishing touches of transferring the wort to the fermenter and pitching the yeast. There’ll be a little about beer and brewing theory and of course beer drink while you work.

Halfway through the day, while boiling does its work, we will meander across the street to enjoy a luncheon hearty bread and craft beers in the formal dining room at New Cross Farmhouse. Then you will return back to the brewhouse to finish your efforts.

At the end of the day you will have a demijohn of your own created brew to complete at home ( plus the bottles to put it in! ) or have the option to leave it to the brewmaster to complete and pick up later or have shipped to you home.

WHAT YOU GET Beer making history and education. Beer throughout the day. Light lunch in the formal dining room.  A demijohn of your own craft beer and bottles to take home or option to collect from the brewmaster when complete. Beer making how to take away and a home equipment buying guide

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER STEVE BURNELL By day Steve has been an aerospace engineer for over 40 years. But his true hobby and passion is making beer. A Welsh lager man through and through, his world was turned upside own on a trip to America where he was introduced to and fell in love with the brewing style he discovered in the IPA micro breweries across the country. This inspired him to make the leap from beer drinker to beer brewer. Steve has applied his technical engineering sensibility to learning everything about the process and components of making amazing beer. And do the last 5 years has been an all grain brewer. We are sure you will love his charming nature, but also his incredible way of sharing knowledge and information he has learned along the way in his own fledgeling brewery.
