SPIRITATO is a pioneering period instrument ensemble with a love for little-known composers and challenging conventions.

Producing unique, research-based performance projects, avoiding well-trodden paths wherever possible, the group actively seeks to promote forgotten composers and bring their music to a wider audience.

Following the acclaimed release of Daniel Purcell’s daring 1701 opera The Judgment of Paris; ‘High-quality entertainment’ BBC Radio 3 Record Review, the group has made four further albums, featuring numerous world-premiere recordings. In recent years, Spiritato has appeared at many of the UK’s most prestigious Classical music festivals, touring widely with pioneering, large-scale projects such as Guts and Glory and Inspiring Bach.
