Bat Walk at Yeovil Country Park
FULLY BOOKED
Join the rangers for a walk around Ninesprings to learn about bat ecology and how the rangers manage the country park with bats in mind. The walk will use bat detectors to listen out for bats in the woods as it gets dark. The walk will culminate at the lake in Ninesprings where, hopefully, the bats will put on a fantastic display.
Due to the lateness of this walk, this event is suitable for children aged 12 years and older. There will be a similar event for younger children in the school summer holidays. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
As it will be dark at the end of the walk, please bring a torch.
Please note that dogs are not permitted on this walk.
Unfortunately this walk is not suitable for people with mobility issues as it takes in steep slopes and steps as we walk around the woods at Ninesprings. If you are interested in a more accessible bat walk, please do get in touch by emailing countryside@southsomerset.gov.uk and we will do our best to arrange a new date.
Booking is essential!
Please note that this event is weather dependent and may have to be postponed if heavy rain is forecast.
