Astronomy Evening at Ham Hill Country - January

We are experiencing problems with our booking line at the moment, should you wish to book onto this event, please send your name, how many places you require and a contact number to:countryside@somerset.gov.uk and we shall check availability and confirm your place.

Have you ever found yourself gazing up at the night sky, wondering what mysteries are hiding in the depths of space?
This evening is led by experienced local astronomer, Adrian Dening and following an informative talk, we will venture outside to conduct our own adventure into the Cosmos. It will be one day past a full moon, so after taking the opportunity to make some lunar observations we will turn out attention to Jupiter and its Galilean moons, before travelling into deep space to find objects like the Andromeda Galaxy 2.5 million lights years away.

Please wrap up warm as we will be spending time outside.  Use of  telescopes will be dependant on there being clear skies but don't worry as we have a 'plan b' if the weather isn't co-operating.

Booking essential, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
