Horse Racing: The Kingwell Hurdle Day

One of Wincanton’s biggest fixtures of the year, it is headlined by the Grade Two Kingwell Hurdle, a race which often proves an important trial for the following month’s Unibet Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. While it might be rare for a horse to win both, it is possible and the most recent to do it was the Alan King-trained Katchit in 2008.

Several high-class horses have triumphed in the Kingwell Hurdle since then, including the great Binocular (2012) and a certain Goshen, who was an emphatic 22-length winner for the Gary Moore team in 2021.

An exciting seven race card is complimented by plenty to keep you occupied off the track with The Hipcats playing Jazz music throughout the day, with a warm West Country welcome guaranteed!
