Park Yoga Yeovil

Join Rachael and Sharla for this weekly free yoga class held every Sunday 9.30 - 10.30am on the flat grassy area next to Ninesprings Cafe at Yeovil Country Park.

Who is Park Yoga for?

Everyone and anyone that would like to enjoy a gorgeous outdoor yoga session in Yeovil Country Park (Nine Springs)

Sessions are aimed at beginners and those wanting to get out and try yoga. There won't be anything too difficult or complicated All levels are very welcome though

Who is Park Yoga not for?

Unfortunately the sessions will not be suitable for pregnant ladies as there will be poses that aren't safe during pregnancy and the group will be too large for the instructor to give individual advice.

Similarly, sessions ate not suitable for anyone that has a medical condition or injury where a Dr or health professional has advised that you don't begin a fitness or yoga practice. If you do have any medical conditions, we ask that your Dr is happy that you start Park Yoga. The Instructors just can't get to everyone unfortunately, like they would in a class

Do I need to pre register before I come?

Nope, just rock up ready for a 9.30am start. No need to book or register

Is it really free?

Yep, it's free, good isn't it. Donations are welcome and the money raised goes towards Park Yoga returning to Yeovil Country Park in the future.

Who are the instructors?

You have 2 this year, Sharla Davey from Anytime Fitness will be taking sessions 8th May to 29th May and then myself, Rachael Gillies from Lunasana Yoga will be with you for the rest of the season, you lucky things!

Where are the sessions?

Just on the green outside the cafe. There's free parking on a Sunday but car parks do get very busy

Can children come?

Absolutely, bring the whole family. All we ask is that your children remain your responsibility at all time, even during the yoga poses. Kids are ace at yoga but please keep am eye on them just in case. Also there is a large pond on close proximity to the session so little ones shouldn't go wandering off please

What happens if it rains?

We get wet! I can't speak for Sharla but I was always happy to carry on in the rain as long as it's safe for you to practice. It's lovely in the rain. If any sessions do need to be cancelled, a post will be put up on this page at least an hour before to give you plenty of notice so please keep an eye out

What should I wear?

Anything you like that's comfortable to move and stretch in. I definitely advise wearing layers as you never know what the weather will do. That was you can take things off and put them on as needed. Sunglasses and sun cream on really hot days is advisable although there is always shade under the trees if you want it

Anything else I need to know?

Probably but I can't think of it right now so feel free to ask any questions you like

Park Yoga is a charity to bring free, outdoor yoga to the community. We just want to help everyone find ways to feel better Come with an open mind, have a go and enjoy

I know lots of my own group will be there and they are the most lovely, supportive people ever so even if you're coming alone, you'll find a warm, friendly welcome. Also, don't forget to keep supporting your local yoga instructors as well as enjoying Park Yoga

Enjoy the first few weeks without me and I look forward to seeing you all in June.
