Friends of Yeovil Country Park Awarded Grant

August 2022

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant of £750 from the Wessex Water Foundation Environment Fund. This grant will support a project in Yeovil Country Park that we have identified to improve the wildlife garden area at Penn Hill Park.

We have been working with the Park Rangers, Kristy, Sophie and Joe to look at developing and enhancing the area for people to enjoy the wildlife, natural environment and experience the calming effect of nature and environment. Free to access for all to enjoy. The project name is “Improving the biodiversity of a wildlife garden at a community green space”

The Chair of Friends, Gary Cashmore said “We value the contribution that Wessex Water Foundation are making and this funding will help us to incorporate improvements in this area.”

Rachael Whaites, Countryside Manager, commented “Wessex Water are a valuable partner supporting work across many of our sites and this funding will definitely allow improvements to the wildlife area at Penn Hill Park”

Friends of Yeovil Country Park is run by volunteers and all of the money received is used in the Country Park. For more information abound the Friends please email: contact@Friends ofYeovilCountryPark.org
