The festival isn’t just about walking, we’ve joined with local communities to support local events and celebrations, so take a look at our featured events and find one that’s right for you:
In Watchet British Comedy Award-winning writer (Miranda and Not Going Out) and comedian Paul Kerensa is taking us on a whirlwind tour in An Evening of (Very) Old Radio …….. The BBC Year 1 that explores Auntie Beeb’s earliest landmark moments with tales, clips and re-enactments – 28th September 7.30pm.
On Friday, 29th Minehead is hosting a Meet the Authors event with the chance to meet local authors, hear them reading extracts from their books and ask questions about their writing. On between 2pm and 4pm go along and hear from Somerset’s writers.
On Saturday, 30th Apex Park in Highbridge will be hosting an Eco Festival with scavenger hunt, Repair Cafe, beach and street cleans, King Alfred School Eco Shop, Plastic Free Group, Plastic Sculpting, Bumblebee Trail and more.
Or take in some music and dancing at the Boat Museum Tea Dance in Watchet, at 4pm on Sunday 24th. Get ready to combine a delicious Somerset cream tea with a spot of 1950s music and dancing.
And don’t forget The Rogues Shanty Band who will be playing at Porlock Village Hall on Saturday, 30th September between 7.30pm and 10pm - a local band of men, women and children who are all passionate about performing and singing, so get ready for a Shanty band with a difference!
What’s On
If you still haven’t found something that suits you don’t forget there are over 70 events taking place all along the coast throughout the Festival week. Take a look at our What’s On section to see everything from artists’ open studios to cream teas and cider tours, craft gin botanical rambles to Somerset quizzes, pond dipping and porpoise spotting, a Country and Western Festival going on throughout the week, and if you want to give something back why not join one of the beach cleans.
